OneClickLinux.com is primarily a blog about all things Linux. Sure, I mix it up a bit and talk about how I use Linux in creating my cartoons, comic strips, and comic panels. But every once in a while I like to take a break form the Linux talk and mention something related to cartooning or personal pursuits.
A call is going out to students from colleges, universities, art schools and trade schools to submit their work in the 2009 Toon Award Exhibition.
As their flyer explains, "You are invited to display your work in the 2009 student Toon Award exhibit at the Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji, Iowa. This event will give college and art school students interested m cartooning the opportunity to showcase their cartoon talents in several categories to professional cartoonists, other students, and the public as well. Each category will be recognized with three awards and the best of show receiving the 2009 Toon Award.
"Along with the opening reception and award dinner, there will be workshops, speakers, professional cartoon exhibits and opportunities to visit and share your cartoon work with professionals in almost all areas of cartooning. A brochure is enclosed with all the information you need to know to participate in the 2009 Toon Award exhibit. You need not be present to win a Toon Award. All weekend activities are FREE to participating students. Please call if you need any additional information.
"Hope to see you and your cartoons April 24, 2009, at the student Toon Awards in Okoboji, Iowa. For motel reservations, please visit www.discoverokoboji.com."
